LAHORE, Aug 18: Only three Pakistanis qualified for the second round of the second leg of ITF Satellite Circuit tennis tournament at Model Town Sports Club hard courts on Wednesday.

The first round was scheduled to start from Monday at Punjab Coaching Centre, Bagh-i-Jinnah grass courts but had to be shifted to Model Town Club due to heavy rains affected the venue.

Pakistan top seed Aqeel Khan with wildcard entries Asim Shafik and Nomi Qamar won matches. Three other Pakistanis Shahzad Khan, Latif Pasha and Mohammad Shafiq have got early ouster.

Aqeel faced little opposition from Indian Vivak before registering 6-3, 6-4 win. Asim proved too good for another Indian Vijay Kannan 6-4, 6-4 while Nomi toppled compatriot Muham mad Shafiq 7-5, 6-3. In the only three set tie of the day, Filali (India) beat Kamil (Morocco) 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.
