HYDERABAD, Aug 17: The Government Nazareth Girls College, Hyderabad, tops the list of distinctions in the higher secondary certificate part-II (class-XII) annual examination 2004.

Sammer Yousufzai, daughter of Rasheed Khan Yousufzai, Hira, daughter of Fazal Farooque Farooqui, and Aamna, daughter of Younus Memon, all of the Nazareth Girls College, secured the first three positions with 895, 880 and 874 marks, respectively.

According to the results announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad on Monday, the top three positions among boys have gone to the Army Public School, Thatta.

Osama Adam, son of Adam Gandro, Faisal Hassan, son of Haji Khan Khatri, and Shahzad Ali, son of Majeed Memon, all of the Army Public School, Thatta, bagged the first, the second and the third positions by obtaining 851, 843 and 841 marks, respectively.

A total number of 497 students including 182 girl students appeared in the science general group examination out of which 339 students including 134 girl students were declared pass while result of five students had been withheld for one or the other reason.

Among girl students of the pre-engineering group, Mahjabeen Dar, daughter of Rafique Dar, of the College of Excellence for Girls, Latifabad-6 secured the first position with 911 marks while Sumita, daughter of Amar Lal Chanchlani, and Sanam Akhtar, daughter of Akhtar Khowaja, of the Government Nazareth Girls College, Hyderabad bagged the second and the third positions by obtaining 909 and 904 marks, respectively.

Among boy students, Zohaib, son of Gul Hassan Wassan, of the Cadet College Sanghar secured the first position with 949 marks while Mustafa Arshad Jameel, son of Arshad Jameel, of the Cadet College Petaro and Dildar Ali, son of Ismail Abro, of the Public School Mirpurkhas secured the second and the third positions with 924 and 909 marks, respectively.

A total number of 7,966 students including 761 girl students appeared in the pre-engineering group examination out of which 1,660 students including 577 girl students were declared pass while result of 80 students had been withheld.
