QUETTA, Aug 12: The Pakistan Workers Party (PWP) has staged a demonstration in support of establishing cantonments and launching mega uplift projects in Balochistan.

Party leaders and activists, holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of government plans for the province, gathered in front of the press club and chanted slogans against nationalists and anti-progress elements.

They also urged the rulers to punish people responsible for the killings of personnel in Khuzdar. Earlier, speaking at a condolence meeting held for the army men died in Khuzdar on Aug 1, 2004, the party leaders said Sardars and the nationalists were opposing the projects for fear of losing their political domination.

Speaking on the occasion, party chief Nasrullah Khan Kakar alleged that anti-development elements were pursuing the agenda of their foreign masters to create misunderstanding between the government and the masses.
