LAHORE, Aug 12: District Coordination Officer Khalid Sultan has proposed installation of video cameras in theatres for monitoring stage plays.

The DCO has given the proposal in response to a letter written to him by the Punjab home secretary on a representation received from a theatre against imposition of ban on a stage play claimed to be obscene and vulgar on inspection by DO (environment).

The DCO has also proposed constitution of joint monitoring teams of the home department and CDG officials for viewing the performances in theatres and a meeting of all concerned for streamlining matters right from the script scrutiny to issuance of NOCs and monitoring so that the objections raised by theatre owners be dealt with.
