PPP's rejoinder to Musharraf

ISLAMABAD, Aug 11: Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians MNA Naheed Khan has criticized President Gen Musharraf for, what she called, demeaning the political leadership of the country.

In a rejoinder to President Musharraf's interview to an English daily, issued by the PPP media cell here on Wednesday, Ms Khan said Makhdoom Amin Fahim was an honourable member of the PPP, who always displayed immense respect for the party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

"Gen Musharraf is trying to undermine the stature of Makhdoom Amin Fahim because he had refused to accept any carrot and did not succumb to the general's pressure to desert the party and abandon his leader, Ms Bhutto. It must be pricking the general and that is why he has started spreading unfounded rumours," the MNA said.
