PESHAWAR, Aug 9: The decomposed body of a 40-year-old farmer was found in his house in Sardar Ghari village in the Chamkani area, and a pedestrian was killed when a passenger bus ran over him on the University Road in separate incidents here on Sunday.

One Ibrahim Khalil told the Chamkani police that he and his family members went to the house of his brother Tanveer, who was living alone in Sardar Ghari village. But when they entered the house, they found the decomposed body of Tanveer, he said, and added that it seemed that someone had killed him few days ago.

Mr Khalil told the police that his brother was a farmer and had no enmity with anyone. The police have registered a case and started investigation in this regard. In an accident, a speeding passenger mini-bus (No Peshawar-C 7301) ran over an unidentified pedestrian on the University Road near Tehkal.

The driver managed to escape after the incident. The police have sent the deceased's body to the mortuary of the Khyber Medical College.
