LAHORE: Independence Day programme

LAHORE, Aug 9: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will preside over a meeting of Pakistan Movement veterans and Pakistan Muslim League workers at the Muslim League House here on Independence Day.

A youth rally will also be held from the Muslim League House to the Punjab Assembly chambers at 3pm on Aug 13 followed by a motorcycle rally from PA chambers to the Minar-i-Pakistan.

An Independence Day mushaira will be held at the Alhamra Art Centre on Aug 12 and the Muslim League minorities wing will organize a seminar at 5pm on Aug 15. Besides, the Muslim League lawyers wing will hold a meeting in connection with the 'Direct Action Day' at the Muslim League House at 4pm on Aug 16.

The decisions were taken at a meeting held at the Muslim League House here on Monday with Punjab PML secretary-general and provincial Communications and Works Minister Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan in the chair.

The meeting was attended among others by Senator Kamil Ali Agha, MNA Bushra Rehman, MPA Farzana Nazir, chief minister's adviser Chaudhry Siddiq, Haji Shahbaz Ahmed, Mian Abdul Sattar, Khwaja Riaz Mahmood, Muhammad Ramzan Bhatti, Nishtar Town Nazim Major Muhammad Rafiq Hasrat (retired), Allama Iqbal Town Nazim Sardar Adil Omar and Aziz Bhatti Town Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf.
