KARACHI, Aug 8: Several new disciplines like Bridge, Chess, Billiards and Snooker may be included in the Indoor Asian Games schedule to be held in Bangkok (Thailand) in November 2005 , Senior Vice President World Bridge Federation (WBF) Mazhar Jafri stated on Sunday.

He said he recently attended a meeting of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in which he put forward his proposals before the executive board of OCA. Mazhar Jafri, said besides these two sports, a Japanese sport Go, Indoor Cycling, Indoor Swimming and some 10-12 indoor games will be part of Indoor Asian Games.

He said efforts are afoot to press OCA to include Bridge and Chess in 2006 Doha Asian Games in Qatar. He said being in WBF, he was striving to get Bridge inserted among Olympics Games but there are various difficulties from the top brass of IOC in Luassane to get it included in Olympics. He said intellectual games like Bridge and Chess deserve place in Olympics. -APP
