PESHAWAR: Action against policemen

PESHAWAR, Aug 8: A police inspector has been retired from his service, and five others have been demoted as punishment on the charge of negligence from their duties, said an official statement issued here on Saturday.

Provincial Police Officer Riffat Pasha issued the orders of the retirement of legal inspector Qazi Shafatullah on Saturday after conducting an inquiry against him who was charged with negligence of his official duties and not obeying a court order.

Four inspectors - Gul Rais, Feroz Khan, Haroon-ur-Rashid and Faridullah - were also found guilty of negligence of their official duties. They were demoted from the inspector rank to sub-inspector as punishment and the PPO also reduced their service of two years, said the statement.

Sultan Ali has also been demoted from his rank to sub-inspector as punishment. Names of all these five officials have also been deleted from "F" list of the official service record.

Meanwhile, the PPO has exonerated Inspector Mohammad Sadiq from the same charge against him after investigation. According to the statement, all these officials were served show-cause notices and the PPO called in all these officials to clear their position regarding the charges.
