PESHAWAR, Aug 4: Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has ordered a fresh operation in Tank district to flush out kidnappers' groups. Presiding over a high-level meeting at the Governor's House in Nathiagali on Wednesday , he said the government had also decided to intervene in the issue of the Amr Bilmaroof wa Nahi Anilmunkar organization in Bara in the Khyber Agency to check its activities.

The meeting was held to review the prevailing law and order situation in the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in the context of the ongoing military operation. The governor told the meeting that the operation against outlaws and kidnappers' groups in the FR Lakki Marwat and FR Tank areas should be reshaped to flush out notorious Arsal group.

He said that law and order situation in Fata would be maintained at all costs and stressed political agents to take precautionary measures in this regard, saying, "pre-emptive cognizance is far better than the proactive actions to avoid damages."

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, Home Secretary Abdul Karim Qasuria, Inspector-General of the Frontier Corps Maj-Gen Hamid Khan, IGP Raffat Pasha and Commandant Frontier Constabulary Israr Shinwari, besides Secretary to Governor Sahibzada Saeed Ahmed, Fata Secretary (Security) Brig (retd) Mehmood Shah and all political agents.

Brig Shah presented an overall review of the law and order situation in Fata with special reference to the situation in South and North Waziristan Agencies, repatriation process of Afghan refugees, situation in Orakzai Agency, operation in FR Lakki Marwat, smuggling as well as other related problems and issues.
