LAHORE, Aug 4: The Lahore Stock Exchange building was evacuated on Wednesday morning after the management received a call about a bomb on the premises.

"We received a call at around 11:15am and got the building evacuated and called out the bomb disposal unit," LSE Managing Director Hamid M.Imtiazi said.

He said that the business in the stock market resumed in the afternoon after the Bomb Disposal Unit confirmed that there was no bomb on the premises.

Imtiazi categorically said that the bomb hoax did not create a panic in the stock market as the evacuation of the building and search operation by the Bomb Disposal Unit were carried out in a smooth and peaceful manner.

"Now the bourse is back to business. Things are quite normal," he said. When contacted, a BDU official said that the unit staff reached the LSE building soon after getting the information. "It was a bomb hoax as no explosive material was found from any part of the building," he said. -APP
