SIALKOT, Aug 1: A delegation of Indian agricultural scientists and experts, led by Prof Sukhraaj Singh Dhilun and Director Harminder Singh on Sunday visited various leading farm machinery manufacturing units in Daska City amid tight security.

They hailed the international standard craftsmanship of Daska-based farm machinery manufacturers and discussed the matters of mutual interest with the local manufacturers, including Muhammad Iqbal Mughal, Mirza Munawar Hussain and Mirza Muhammad Yunas.

The team offered the local manufacturers to establish various joint ventures with the Indian farm machinery manufacturers as there were bright opportunities for both the countries in this regard.

Later, talking to newsmen, Prof Sukhraaj Singh Dhilun and Director Herminder Singh, a research engineer at Punjab University, Ludhiana, announced provision of technical assistance to the local manufacturers, besides ensuring regular exchange of latest agricultural research report information.

They were of the view that the Daska's farm machinery industry could be made export-oriented through the government's proper patronization. Punjab director-general (agriculture) Chaudhry Ghaffar, DG (water management) Mushtaq Gill, DG (field) Dr Rafiqur Rehman, Sialkot EDO Rana Farman Ali and others were also present on the occasion.
