RAWALPINDI, Aug 1: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents, while four vehicles were either stolen or snatched in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, police said on Sunday.

A man, Asghar Ali, was killed after being run over by a speeding car in the jurisdiction of Saddar Bairooni police station. Similarly, a person who is yet to be identified was killed when a truck hit him near Convention Centre in Islamabad.

Police said a car had overturned near the Convention Centre and passers-by were busy in pulling out the accident victim when a truck (AK-5325) coming from Barakahu knocked down and killed one of the rescuers.

Meanwhile, Bilal Ahmed told the New Town police that he was on his way home on his motorbike (RIX-4907) when two masked men forced him to stop the vehicle. The two persons snatched the motorbike and escaped.

Jamilur Rehman's motorbike (RIZ-6921) was stolen from Sadiqabad, Usman Aslam's motorcycle (IDK-8024) was lifted from outside a commercial plaza in the same locality, while Malik Shaheen's car (R-8524) was stolen from outside the Excise and Taxation Office.
