Asif's birthday celebrated

KARACHI, July 26: The Pakistan Peoples' Party paid tributes to its detained leader and spouse of PPP chairperson, Asif Ali Zardari, while celebrating his birthday at Karachi Press Club on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the president of PPP Karachi region, Haji Muzaffar Ali, said that they were celebrating Asif Zardari's 52nd birth anniversary in a manner to highlight the cruelty and criminal negligence of present rulers.

He said that Asif Ali Zardari had spent eight precious years of his life behind bars with courage. He said that the PPP appreciated the bravery of Asif Zardari as the government was taking revenge but he had not surrendered before the rulers.

The participant also cut the 52nd birthday cake of Asif Ali Zardari. Later, Muzaffar Ali talked to the participants of hunger strike camp, which was set up to protest against non-arrest of culprits involved in assassinations of PPP leaders. He criticized the government policies and demanded arrests of the killers of MPA Abdullah Murad and Munawwar Suhrawardy. -PPI
