MITHI, July 19: The Chhachhro police has recovered the body of a villager, Ladu Meghwar, near the Neenbaro village in Nagarparkar taluka. Police said on Monday that the body, wrapped in a sack, had been buried near the village.

Police said that an FIR of Ladu's murder had been lodged on the complaint of his brother, Ranjho Meghwar, against Abdullah Thebo, Jeayando Thebo and Hero Meghwar. However, no arrest has been made so far.

When contacted, the DPO of Tharparkar, Zulfiqar Larik, told this correspondent: "Post-mortem of the body will be conducted soon." Ms Rani, mother of the deceased, in telegrams earlier sent to higher authorities, complained that the FIR was registered after a delay of five days.

She stated that the main accused had been arrested but due to his influence, police were not disclosing his arrest.

CATTLE THEFT: Residents of different villages have urged the DPO to take notice of rising thefts of cattle and take stern action against the alleged thieves. Ms Wahidan, Sohrab Shah and others alleged that two Thakurs of Dhurio village, Mithi taluka, had stolen scores of cattle heads including sheep and goats from various villages but no action had been taken against them despite complaints to relevant functionaries.
