MUZAFFARABAD, July 18: Muslim Conference president and MLA Sardar Atique Ahmed Khan has said that Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control must be provided an opportunity to meet each other to evolve a consensus on their future.

He was briefing a delegation of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Saturday. The delegation was led by Tahir Mohammad Khan and Hina Jilani, HRCP chairperson and secretary- general, respectively.

The other members of the delegation included Afrasiab Khattak, Gazi Salahud Din Rochi Ram, Uzma Norani and Shahtaj Kazalbash. The HRCP delegation also called on AJK President Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan, Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, former AJK premier Sardar Mohammad Abdul Qayyum Khan and AJK High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Hussain Gilani.

The Muslim Conference chief was of the view that Kashmiri people were separated and divided families which, he said, was a human misery and trauma saying international human rights groups should come forward and play their role.

He was of the view that the state of Jammu and Kashmir had an identity and entity which he opined should be maintained and no compromise could be made on the entity of Kashmir. Mr Khan said that people in AJK were enjoying complete democratic system. -APP
