PESHAWAR, July 18: Three employees of a local hotel allegedly assaulted a woman guest here on Saturday night. The city police arrested one of the accused, while the others escaped, police officials said.

Official sources told Dawn that the 27-year-old married woman, along with her uncle, had come to Peshawar from Kohat on Saturday evening and stayed at the hotel for a night. The two had planned to go to Abbottabad on Sunday morning.

At 11pm, the woman's uncle advised her niece to lock the door from inside as he was going out for an hour. Police said that the three employees of the hotel, Bahadar, a resident of Bara, Gul Daraz from Charsadda and Khalid from Chitral somehow entered her room and raped her.

The victim informed her uncle about the incident when he returned to the hotel and later had an FIR registered against the three with the Kabuli Police Station. Police arrested Khalid from the hotel while the other accused escaped, police said. Police also sent a team to Charsadda to arrest Gul Daraz. Police took the victim to the Khyber Medical College for medical examination on Sunday morning.
