GUJRANWALA, July 11: The Indian Punjab chief-secretary will visit his native village, Qila Jhanda Singh, (Kamoki) on his arrival in Pakistan, A source said Bhagwant Singh was a resident of the village where he got primary education and later shifted to East Punjab (India) in 1947.

Mr Singh would also visit his alma mater while the Punjab government reportedly issued a directive to the education department to renovate the village school.

Meanwhile, DPI Muhammad Jamil Anjum, director (elementary) and the district education officer paid a surprise visit to the school and reviewed the provision of facilities to students and teachers.
