SUKKUR, July 11: Tension mounted in kutcha area of Bagarji, in the Abad police station jurisdiction, here following a double murder on the pretext of karo-kari on Saturday night.
Dadlo and Sahib Khan Jatoi had been killed last night. Manthar lodged a case about the murder of Dadlo against Karim Dino, Islam, Rajoo, Janoo, Bakar, Ashraf and Khanan while Mohammad Bux lodged the case of Sahib Khan's murder against Yakoob, Shoaib, Mando, Sattar, Nekoo, Mehar and Guloo. Police have arrested five persons from both sides.
TRIBAL DISPUTE: The Mahar-Pitafi dispute in the Ghotki district has deepened following the murder of five persons - Ali Hassan Mahar, Mir Mohammad Mahar, Gaman Mahar, Rahzan Pitafi and Bahawal Pitafi - in the last five days.
More than 10 persons have also been injured in clashes between the tribes. The groups exchanged fire in Dad Leghari, Keenjhar, Ali Mahar, Berdi, Sarhad, Daharki, Gulloo Pitafi and other areas. The dispute has affected business activities and transport in the area.
