LAHORE, July 6: Pakistan will launch its campaign in the World Cup Polo tournament by taking on Brazil on Sept 9 at Chantilly, France. Pakistan have been placed in Pool A in the elite eight team event alongwith Mexico, Brazil and England.

Group B comprises Chile, USA, France and Australia, according to the draws made available here on Tuesday. Brazil will defend the title in the 11-day event. Pakistan have qualified for the World Cup for the first time in the game's history.

It beat India in the World Cup Zone D tournament here last December. Following is the programme of matches of the tournament which ends on Sept 19.

(Sep 9) Pakistan vs Mexico, England vs Brazil

(Sep 10) USA vs Chile, France vs Australia

(Sep 11) Brazil vs Pakistan, England vs Mexico

(Sep 12) USA vs Australia, France vs Chile

(Sep 13) Brazil vs Mexico, England vs Pakistan

(Sep 14) Australia vs Chile, USA vs France

From each Pool two teams each will qualify for the semi finals slated on Sept 17. The final will be played on Sept 19. -APP
