Kiwis to tour Bangladesh

Published July 2, 2004

DHAKA, July 1: New Zealand will tour Bangladesh later this year to play two Tests and three One-day Internationals, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Thursday.

The New Zealanders are due to arrive here on Oct 11 for their first full series against Bangladesh, the BCB said in a media statement.

Bangladesh toured New Zealand in 2001, during which it played only two Test matches - no One-day Internationals - against the hosts. During the upcoming tour, New Zealand's first Test match will start on Oct 19 in Dhaka.

The second Test will begin on Oct 26 in the southeastern city of Chittagong, where the first one-day match will be played on Nov 2. The other two one-dayers are scheduled for Dhaka on Nov 5 and Nov 7. Bangladesh have not won a Test match since becoming the 10th and the newest Test-playing nation in 2000. -Agencies
