Abizaid meets Musharraf, Yusaf

ISLAMABAD, June 30: The commander-in-chief, US Centcom, Gen John P. Abizaid called on President Gen Pervez Musharraf here on Wednesday.

Matters of mutual interest, geo-strategic environment and ways to further enhance existing ties between the armed forces of the two countries were discussed during the meeting, an ISPR press release said.

Gen Abizaid thanked the President and the Pakistan Army for the hospitality being extended to him and the members of his entourage. He termed his meeting with the country's military leadership mutually benefiting.

Earlier, the Centcom chief met the Vice Chief of Army Staff Gen Muhammad Yusaf Khan at the general headquarters in Rawalpindi. They exchanged views on matters of professional interest. -APP
