ISLAMABAD, June 21: The president of People's Party Parliamentarians (PPP), Makhdoom Amin Fahim, has expressed his deep concern over the law and order situation in the country and demanded immediate arrest of the killers of party activist Munawwar Suhrawardy.

Speaking at a protest rally, organized by the PPP women wings of Rawalpindi and Islamabad outside the Parliament House here on Monday. Mr Fahim said the government was showing extra-ordinary efficiency to arrest those who had attacked the Karachi commander. On the other hand, he said, no efforts were being made to arrest the killers of Munnawar Suharwardy.

He said the law and order situation had become a serious issue, particularly in Sindh. He said the Sindh government had completely failed to provide protection to the life and property of the people.

President of the PPP women wing, Islamabad city, Nargis Faiz Malik, said the party condemned violence in politics. She said after the recent incidents of terrorism in Karachi, Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad should tender resignation. She vowed to continue the struggle for the restoration of true and genuine democracy in the country.

President of the PPP women wing, Rawalpindi city, MNA Fauzia Habib said the party would continue its struggle till the arrival of Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan. MNAs Zamurad Khan, Rukhsana Bangash and Dr Azra were also present during the protest demonstration.
