JHANG, June 20: The PML-Q candidate is leading the NA-89 bypoll, comprising defunct Jhang municipality areas and some rural areas falling in the limits of the Sadar police station.

Out of the total 222 polling stations, results of 110 have so far been declared. Shaikh Waqas Akram of the PLM-Q has bagged 24,399 votes. He is the son of Jhang Tehsil Nazim Shaikh Muhammad Akram.

Closely following him is Millat-i-Islamia's Muhammad Alam Tariq, the brother of Muhammad Azam Tariq, who has got 21,150 votes. Another important candidate in the run is Hasan Muhiyuddin Qadri, the son of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Allama Tahirul Qadri.
