KARACHI, June 6: Shoaib Bukhari, a leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, visited the Jamiat-ul-Uloom-al-Islamiyah, Binnori Town, on Sunday and met the family members of Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, Dr Abdul Razzaq Iskandar and other ulema there.

On the occasion he delivered a message of condolence from Altaf Hussein, the chief of his party. He said that despite political differences, Mufti Shamzai was a venerated religious scholar for his party, according to a press release.

Mr Bukhari said Jamiat-ul-Uloom-al-Islamiyah was a renowned seat of learning and as such was respected throughout the Islamic world. He added that due to the difficult law and order situation obtaining in Karachi, no Muttahida leader could visit the Madressah earlier.

Muttahida leaders shared the grief over Mufti Shamzai's assassination with his many followers, said the press release. Mr Shoaib was accompanied by Allama Shah Ferozuddin Rehmani and Arshad Siddiqui.
