HYDERABAD, June 2: As many as 378 cases against different departments are pending disposal. It was informed at a meeting with DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed in chair on Tuesday that 158 cases were pending against the TMA of Latifabad.

Some 181 cases were pending against the TMA city out of which services of lawyers had been hired in 95 cases and private lawyers were also being approached to defend the TMA in the remaining 86 cases.

Six cases were pending against the TMA Qasimabad, three each against Hala and Tando Mohammad Khan, seven against Tando Allahyar and one against the TMA Hyderabd rural.

The meeting was informed that 16 cases were pending against the education department two against health and one against agriculture department. The DCO said that a computerized secretariat would be provided to the EDO law for the early disposal of cases filed against the district or by the district government and added that a team of competent lawyers would also be provided.

EDO law Shams Sehto, EDO finance Sikandar Shah, TMOs of all talukas and others attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the DCO in a separate notification said on Tuesday that under instructions from the Sindh chief justice and chief secretary, the offices of the deputy district officer, revenue Latifabad and Mukhtiarkar Latifabad, at present located in the district collectorate building, would be shifted to Latifabad.

He said that the offices would be housed in the district education works building behind the Bilal palace and added that the shifting would be completed by June 7.
