LAHORE, June 1: Two goals by Asadullah propelled Allied Bank Limited (ABL) to their first win when they crushed Wohaib Club 4-1 in the National 'A' football league match at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday.

Bankers who had lost both their home and away ties to Wapda finally got three points they required for the win. Half time score was 2-0. ABL displayed attacking game from the start to finish and kept the rival strikers at bay with their solid defence.

Wohaib Club, Punjab's top club, however, failed to put up an impressive performance. Bankers drew first blood in the third minute of the game when striker Muhammad Ijaz launched an attack from the left.

He entered the circle after dodging two defenders and came very close to goalkeeper Muhammad Imran. Here Ijaz very leverly dodged the goalie to score an impressive goal. ABL again went on the offensive and their efforts bore fruit in the 32nd minute when Awais struck a field goal.

Awais got the ball in front of the circle and after two touches lifted it into the cage. Thereafter, Wohaib Club tried to put pressure but ABL foiled their attempts as there was rough tackling from both teams. First ABL's Amir was shown a yellow card in the 35thminute for deliberately stopping a defender.

In the 42nd minute, Wohaib's Faisal Khan was also shown the same card. However, Wohaib Club maintained their attacking game and made dangerous in roads but they were always short on target.

After resumption, ABL stormed ahead with two quick goals by Asadullah within six minutes. He slammed in his first in the 53rd minute with an angular kick from the right after receiving a cross pass from the left side. He went on to increase the lead 4-0through another field goal. The hapless Wohaib Club scored the consolation goal through Muhammad Ilyas in the 89th minute.

Wednesday's programme: Wapda vs Panthers Club, Faisalabad at 5.00pm.
