UNITED NATIONS, May 26: Last week's Israeli incursion into Rafah left an additional 575 Palestinians homeless, bringing the total since the beginning of the month to over 2,000, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Tuesday.

Offering an initial assessment, the agency said 45 buildings were destroyed or rendered uninhabitable during the recent round of demolitions from May 18 to 23, which came on top of "what had already been one of the worst months of the intifada in Rafah". From May 1 to 23, 155 buildings housing 1,960 people were demolished, UNRWA said.
