KARACHI, May 25: Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Tuesday presided over a high-level meeting to review the situation arising out of the supply of contaminated water. The meeting was held at the Governor House , said an official statement.

It was informed that the committee set up under the chief secretary, would submit its report in the next three days. The governor directed that in the light of the inquiry report, action be initiated without any distinction against the officials found responsible for dereliction of duty as well as carelessness.

The meeting was told that there was inflow of fresh water in the Indus and that the water situation would improve in the next couple of days. Ibad asked the people to adopt every sort of precaution regarding drinking water and follow the directions given in this respect.

FELICITATIONS: Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Tuesday congratulated Maulana Fazlur Rehman on his appointment as leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly. Ibad, in a statement, said that the opposition had an important and constructive role in a democratic system. -APP
