ISLAMABAD, May 21: An important inter-provincial coordination committee meeting to be chaired by minister for water and power, Kashmir affairs and provincial coordination, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao is being held here next Tuesday.

All the four provincial chief ministers will attend the meeting which is being arranged by the cabinet division, and sources said the timing was significant in view of the deadlock over the resource distribution formula, the NFC award.

Official sources told Dawn that the meeting was being convened to discuss water sharing, water reservoir issues, financial resources distribution and above all the issues of inter-provincial coordination.

It will attempt to narrow down the existing differences on the construction of big water reservoirs, source said. The chief ministers will also discuss the movement of essential commodities including wheat and wheat flour.
