ISLAMABAD, May 20: Pakistan and Bangladesh will develop close liaison in pursuing economic reforms to leverage expertise for consolidating financial gains by the two countries.

This was decided in meeting between Bangladesh State Minister for Finance and Planning Commission Shah M. Abdul Hussain and Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz here on Thursday, a press release said.

Discussing the prospects of economic cooperation under the umbrella of Saarc, the Bangladeshi minister hoped that Pakistan would play its role in economic development of the region.

Bangladesh and Pakistan, Mr Hussain suggested, could share expertise with each other in several fields including taxation, financial services and capital markets. Bangladeshis were particularly studying Pakistan's tax ombudsman arrangement to consider its applicability in their country, he added.
