PESHAWAR, May 20: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah has directed the officials concerned to accelerate the pace of work on implementation of the medical university and women's medical college projects.

Presiding over a meeting at the health secretariat, he said preparatory work for the projects was in the final phase. Briefing the meeting about the projects, NWFP Health Secretary Dr Ihsanul Haq said the charter of the medical university had been finalized and would be put before the provincial cabinet for approval soon.

Staff for the director of the implementation unit of the project was sanctioned. It was decided that fortnightly meetings presided over by the health secretary would monitor the implementation of the projects.

The works and services department assured the meeting that civil work of both the projects would be completed within the target period. The meeting was informed that the university and the college would start academic activities from the next session. -PPI
