VEHARI, May 18: The PML-N strongly protested on Tuesday against the arrest of MPA Dr Nazir Dogar in Burewala. A protest meeting was held here at the district PML-N office which was largely attended.

Punjab PML-N vice-president Zahid Anwar Wahla criticized the government for political victimization of its opponents. He claimed that Mr Dogar was arrested for refusing to join the ruling party.

Mr Wahla said the MPA was detained in a case registered on the complaint of TMA for supporting the shopkeepers who had razed the TMA shops. All the shopkeepers and the MPA were on bail but police arrested him.

Mr Dogar was sitting along with his party workers at his residence on Monday night when police arrested him in another case. Mr Wahla threatened that the PML-N would go on strike if the MPA was not released.
