BEIJING, May 17: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Shahid Karimullah held talks with Commander of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) Vice Admiral Zhang Dingfa here on Monday. The two sides decided to enhance bilateral cooperation in the defence field.

The two sides expressed satisfaction over the existing level of cooperation between the two navies and decided to consolidate it further for their mutual benefit, a senior Pakistani Navy official told APP.

He said that the two navies would continue to cooperate in different fields of their mutual interest, including training to strengthen their capability. Matters relating to purchase of new warships from China also came under discussion, the official said and hoped that the two sides would soon finalize a deal in this regard.
