RAHIMYAR KHAN, May 13: Retired employees of the district council are facing problems due to the late payment of pension. They are given pension on the 12th of each month which is a matter of great inconvenience.

Pensioners Rana Mumtaz Ahmad, Ghulam Murtaza Shah, Chaudhry Attaullah, Rao Jameel Ahmed, Qazi Riazuddin, Abdul Khaliq, Chaudhry Sharif Lodhi, Chaudhry Sadiq, Rao Sharafat Ali and Jam Abdul Rahim say that all other departments pay pension on the first of each month, but we are paid on 12th of each month. The late payment land them in several problems, they say.

GRANTED: Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has granted permission to the district government for the appointment of teachers on contract basis to fill vacancies in all colleges.

This was disclosed by district education committee chairman Rana Tariq Mehmood Khan. He said that the district government had also received the required funds for this purpose.
