LAHORE, May 4: Three Pakistanis and a Chinese from Hong Kong entered the main round of the International squash tournament at the conclusion of two-day qualifying round at the Punjab Squash Complex on Tuesday.

Wal Hang Wong was stretched to four games by his mate Roger Ngan to move into the main round. Wong won the 51-minute long contest 15-10, 15-11, 11-15, 15-12. Zubair Ali Khan ousted Shahnawaz 10-15, 15-13, 15-9, 15/8.

Zubair took only 39 minutes to win. Shamsul Islam thrashed Basit Ashfaq 15-7, 15-7, 15-12. Naveed Atlas overpowered Mohammad Ilyas 15-8, 7-15, 15-10, 17-15 in 57 minutes. The main round in which 16 players are competing, starts from Wednesday.

Among them 14 are Pakistanis. Ritwik Bhattacharya from India and Wong from Hong Kong being the only two foreigners in the main round. Main round draws: Mansoor Zaman vs Wal Hang Wong; Saeed Hassan vs Khalid Atlas Khan; Majid Khan vs Farhan Mehboob; Safeerullah Khan vs Shamsul Islam: Naveed Atlas vs Ritwik Bhattacharya: Zubair Ali Khan vs Farrukh Zaman; Yasir Butt vs Arshad Iqbal Burki; Khayal Muhammad vs Shahid Zaman.
