ISLAMABAD, April 28: The pre-budget session of the National Assembly is scheduled to be summoned from May 10 to 24, official sources told Dawn on Wednesday. The Senate session has already been summoned on the requisition of the combined opposition on May 4.

Though no agenda has so far been issued by the government, the session is likely to discuss, among other things, the thorny issues of National Security Council, the matter of sending troops to Iraq and the military operation in the tribal areas.

The budget session of the lower house is expected to be convened from June 3 which may last till the end of that month, the sources said.
