ISLAMABAD, April 27: People will accept a settlement of the Kashmir dispute only if it is in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions, says the leader of the Opposition in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Barrister Sultan Mehmood.

He said this during meetings with various delegations from the Azad Kashmir at his residence here on Tuesday. No settlement would be acceptable that ignored the wishes of the Kashmiri people and bypassed resolutions passed by the world body.

He said it was necessary for the Kashmiris themselves to prepare a roadmap for the resolution of the longstanding issue and apprise the world community about their aspirations in this regard.

Sultan Mahmood said Kashmiris were the third and main party to the Kashmir issue, adding they welcome Pak-India dialogue process but now they needed to as to when they would be included in these talks. Stressing the need for unity in the APHC, he said it was vital for the Kashmiris to be able to succeed. -APP
