KARACHI: Bandits break into clinic

KARACHI, April 22: The Free Mental Health Clinic, located in Depot Lines behind Prince Cinema, was broken into by unknown intruders on late Wednesday night.

According to an application submitted to the Saddar SHO, by the Pakistan Association for Mental Health, on Monday morning when the staff came to the clinic, they found the locks of drawers in all the rooms broken.

Drawers, papers and files were found scattered all over the clinic premises. A police official, who visited the crime scene suspected that the intruders were not looking for valuables. The computer, TV, refrigerator and other equipment were not disturbed, the police said, adding that cash of rupees 6,781, was found missing from the clinic.

Earlier, on April 14, private clinic of Dr S Haroon Ahmed at Hilal-i-Ahmer was also broken into in the same manner. Cash of rupees 30,500 and ECT machine was also found missing in the earlier intrusion.

BODY FOUND: An unidentified young man died in a seemingly hit-and-run accident at the Super Highway in the early hours of Thursday. Police said that body of the victim in his early 20s was found near the Super Highway in afternoon.

The Gadap police shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for the post-mortem examination. Following the autopsy, the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification, the police added.
