MMA to welcome Shahbaz in Peshawar

Published April 22, 2004

LAHORE, April 21: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal would receive PML-N president Mian Shahbaz Sharif if his plane lands at Peshawar Airport. This was stated by Jammat-i-Islami deputy secretary general Farid Ahmed Piracha MNA while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday. It is the democratic right of Shahbaz Sharif to return home immediately, he said.

It is not in my knowledge that Shahbaz Sharif's plane will landin Peshawar or that the PML-N has contacted the MMA to seek co-operation in that respect but we will facilitate him as possible," Mr Piracha said.

Answering a question he said that if the government stopped him it would be unconstitutional and illegal. Shahbaz Sharif must come back and lead the nation as it was need of the hour, he stressed. -PPI
