MULTAN, April 16: Local additional district and sessions judge rejected on Friday bail pleas of four accused in the Afsheen Mussart murder case.

The detailed order about rejection of the bail applications of Mussart Sahu, Allah Ditta Sahu, Fazeel Raza Sahu and Hammad Sahu would be announced on Saturday (today), a court official told the newsmen.

Afsheen (22) had eloped with her maternal cousin Hasan Mustafa in November last year after almost one and a half month of marriage with her paternal cousin, who was said to be a PAF pilot. She reportedly wanted to marry Hasan but her parents refused to accept her will.

Later on, she was brought back by her family from Islamabad where she and Hasan had been taking shelter with a family's acquaintance. Her family had promised while bringing her back to Multan that they would settle the matter according to her will. However, a couple of days after her coming home, she was reported dead by her family, claiming her demise natural.

However, President Gen Pervez Musharraf took note of the situation when the HRCP raised the issue at various forums and ordered a thorough probe to that effect. Her body was exhumed and post-mortem report declared her death from strangulation. Police, later on, arrested her father advocate Mussart, grandfather Allah Ditta and cousins Fazeel and Hammad on murder charges.
