RAJANPUR, April 13: Shortage of potable water at Pachhad is forcing people to shift to other areas. The locals get water from canals for all purposes because the underground water is brackish. Owing to the shortage of canal water, a canister of potable water is being sold for Rs20. The cattle are facing equal trouble.
It is feared that many areas of the district may face drought if the canals are not filled. As a majority of people here do not afford water at such a high price, they have demanded of the officials concerned to make arrangements for the provision of water without delay.
