HYDERABAD, April 12: District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has said that the sanctity of the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal will be maintained at all costs. He was presiding over a meeting of the District Peace Committee here on Saturday which discussed proposals to celebrate Jashan-i-Eid Milad-un-Nabi from 1st Rabi-ul-Awwal 1425 (H) to 12th in a befitting manner.

The Nazim directed the district administration not to allow any musical show, objectionable speeches, slogans, misuse of loud speakers and obscene wall posters during the celebrations.

He directed the management of HDA to ensure smooth water supply and drainage system and cover all the open manholes to avoid any incident. He directed the TMAs concerned to remove all garbage, building material and other hurdles specially from the routes identified for the processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The Nazim announced that all the bills on account of illumination would be paid by TMAs concerned and directed Hesco not to disconnect power supply on the pretext of non-payment.

He asked Hesco to ensure uninterrupted power supply so that the proceedings of celebration and system of water supply and drainage might not be disturbed. The Nazim announced that three awards would be given for best illumination for which a three member committee had been constituted.

He directed the police administration that the procedure for granting permission to processions be made easier and implemented according to the routes and schedule. He directed to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow so that the people might not feel any difficulty on their way.

Responding to some complaints raised by members of the District Peace Committee, the district Nazim made it clear that at present the district government and the HDA were financially handicapped and were not in a position to resolve all the problems of communication, water supply and drainage.

However, he was optimistic that once the Hyderabad development package announced by the president was implemented, the civic problems of the people would be resolved for the next 25 years. HDA director-general Ali Mohammad Lund, director building control Masood Jumani, EDO works and communication Habib Memon, and other members attended the meeting.
