AYODHYA, April 6: Pakistan's concerns about the pace of talks with India do not augur well for a nascent peace process between the neighbours, Indian Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a news conference here, he said: "There have been a couple of observations from Pakistan to which the government of India has responded." "These are not very happy indications. How far it (the peace process) will go remains to be seen," said Mr Advani who was campaigning for elections that begin later this month.

He was apparently referring to last month's comments by President Gen Pervez Musharraf that he would withdraw from talks if there was no significant progress to resolve the held Kashmir dispute by July or August, when foreign ministers of the two countries are due to hold a review meeting. -Reuters
