LANDI KOTAL, April 5: Armed tribesmen kidnapped a young boy after hijacking his pick-up truck at gunpoint here on Monday. The boy, Safeerullah, was on his way to Landi Kotal bazaar, when intercepted by Baidar Khan and his armed men. The boy was reportedly beaten before being taken away to an unknown destination.

Safeerullah is the nephew of Khyber Agency Assistant Education Officer Bahadar Khan. The two groups had a monetary dispute, of which Bahadar Khan had registered a case with the political administration.

The authorities on Thursday last arrested a son of Baidar Khan to compel him to resolve the monetary dispute with his rival. The authorities have also registered a case of abduction against Baidar Khan upon the complaint of the agency education officer.

CARJACKING: Armed men in Akkakhel area hijacked a taxi car from its driver before he was being severely beaten. The taxi was booked from Peshawar on the pretext of taking a patient and when it reached Akkakhel area in Bara, it was hijacked on gunpoint. Upon resistance, the driver was severely beaten.
