LAHORE, March 31: The conveners of the seven Inter-University Course Curriculum Committees (IUCCC) on Wednesday briefed the Punjab governor on the research methodologies, inclusion of the latest knowledge in textbooks and changes in the examination system.

The briefing was given by the IUCCCs constituted for physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, English, Urdu, and Persian literature and linguistics. The meeting held at the Governor's House decided that further meetings would be arranged at the High Education Commission to incorporate the IUCCC's recommendations into the commission's model syllabi.

The governor, who is also the chancellor, had constituted the Inter-University Faculty Boards (IUFB) in 15 universities in the province to update the curricula. The meeting was told that the IUFBs had finalized their action plan for revising the curricula at postgraduate level.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor lauded the efforts of the IUCCCs, sub-committees of the IUFB, for updating curricula that would help the universities produce graduates, who would be recognized at the international level.

Besides 25 conveners of the IUFB sub-committees, HEC director-general Dr Altaf Ali Sheikh and Government College University vice-chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Aftab attended the meeting.
