RAWALPINDI, March 26: A person shot dead his wife and daughter in Dhoke Mangtal (Ganjmandi) on Friday, police said. The alleged killer, Abdul Rehman, escaped from the crime scene after killing his wife, Aqeela Bibi , and daughter, Ms Ayesha, who was to be married tomorrow.

Police said Rehman was against his daughter's marriage with a person, Jamil. On Friday, Aqeela Bibi and her daughter were present at their home when Rehman opened fire, killing them on the spot.

A reporter from Islamabad adds: A woman attempted suicide by taking insecticides here on Friday, source in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences said.

Marhaba Bibi, 20, attempted suicide after having a quarrel with her mother-in-law and father-in-law. She was taken to Pims where she was said to be in critical condition.
