SUKKUR: Karo-kari: two shot dead

SUKKUR, March 26: A woman and a man were killed on the pretext of Karo-kari in Mirpur Mathelo taluka and their bodies were thrown in the River Indus on Thursday night.

Bakhsho Shar gunned down his fiancee (R), 16, daughter of Qutub Shar, and Rano Shar on the pretext of Karo-kari in Mehrab Shar village in the jurisdiction of Andal Sundrani police station.

PROTEST: More than 50 men, women and children of Meghwar community staged a protest demonstration on Friday in front of the DPO office at Mirpur Mathelo against the kidnapping of Koili Meghwar.

They stated that Mukho Chandio, Birbal and Moti Meghwar had kidnapped their girl some three days back in Jhangal Malik village near Ubauro. They said the same accused had kidnapped Mira some five years back.

They alleged the police had refused to register a case against the kidnappers and demanded registration of the case against the accused and recovery of both the kidnapped girls.
