DADU, March 25: Development work under phase-II at the shrine of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz will be completed at a cost of Rs72.649 million by January 2005.

This was stated by the project director of development schemes of the shrine, Aijaz Ahmad Mangi, who is also the DCO, while speaking at a meeting with EDOs and officials of different departments at the Sehwan Rest House here on Thursday.

Mr Mangi said old structures attached to the shrine had been demolished and new structures were being raised. He said the first phase, which included the main shrine, started in August 1995 and was completed at a cost of Rs171.879 million in November 2003 with financial assistance from the federal government. The Sindh government had provided funds for the second phase, he added.

The EDO, works and services, Mohammad Ali Memon, told the meeting that construction of roads in the town had been started that of a bus terminal had been completed.
