SIALKOT, March 23: The Head Marala police have registered a case against its additional SHO and two ASIs for releasing two drug traffickers allegedly after taking bribe.

The Head Marala police arrested Nadeem and Ilyas from Kharotta Syedan village with heroin and wine and registered two separate cases against them. Later, additional SHO sub-inspector Mahmood Khan and ASIs Ilyas and Younas released both the accused after taking bribe from their families.

Following an information, Sialkot additional SP Umer Farooq Bhatti and DSP HQs Syed Wallayat Husain Shah raided the Head Marala police station and found both the drug pushers missing.

When the SP checked the record, it showed that the SHO was on patrol duty, but he was present in the police station. The SP also recovered an illegally-detained person, Mohammad Sher, from the police station.

The SP arrested the SHO on the spot and ordered the DSP HQs to register a case against him along with two ASIs. The SHO was sent behind bars. Later, the Head Marala police rearrested drug-pushers Nadeem and Ilyas and sent them to the district jail. Meanwhile, the local magistrate/civil judge Mian Khadim Husain has awarded a two-day physical remand of SI Mehmood Khan.
